I co-founded Zero's Unlikely Snacks, a neighborhood market that specialized in imported foods, in 2017 with a storefront in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. We wanted to create an inclusive space for the local community that was unpretentious and playful, with inventory driven by recommendations from our clientele. Our identity and mission were an ode to Los Angeles and its diverse culture and culinary history.
We embraced the nature of our raw, industrial space and went for a DIY approach across the board. I designed a brutalist digital experience that captured the scrappy spirit of the physical store and the team behind it.
